Organic Waste: Sustainable Disposal for the Conservation of Natural Resources

Organic waste consists of biologically derived materials such as food scraps, fruit and vegetable peels, agricultural residues, garden waste, and animal byproducts. When stored uncontrolled, these wastes release methane gas, accelerating global warming and putting significant pressure on the environment. MT INCINERATION SYSTEMS offers an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient solution with its YF Series Incinerators, developed for the environmentally friendly disposal of organic waste. This system completely incinerates biological waste, turning it into harmless ash and converting the resulting heat into energy.

Types and Properties of Organic Wastes

Domestic Organic Waste: Food waste, fruit and vegetable peels, coffee grounds, tea pulp.

Agricultural Wastes: Post-harvest plant residues, straw, hay and pruning residues.

Animal Wastes: Meat processing by-products, animal manure, organic residues.

Industrial Organic Wastes: Dough, oil, pulp and similar residues resulting from food production.

Because organic waste has a high moisture content, it requires pre-drying and combustion air balancing during incineration. These processes are automatically optimized in YF Series systems, ensuring complete combustion while reducing energy consumption.

Environmental Impacts of Organic Waste

Uncontrolled accumulation of organic waste releases greenhouse gases such as methane (CH₄) and carbon dioxide (CO₂). It also causes serious hygiene problems, such as pest infestation, odor, and pathogen growth. Therefore, organic waste must be disposed of in closed incinerators, using complete combustion and high temperatures. This method both prevents environmental pollution and allows the heat generated from waste to be used for energy production.

YF Series Solid Waste Incinerator: Highly Efficient System for Organic Waste

The YF Series Incinerators, which can incinerate organic waste directly or after drying, ensure complete oxidation with a two-stage combustion system operating between 850–1100°C. The high-temperature refractory lining minimizes heat loss from moist waste. The system's automatic air control reduces fuel consumption and ensures continuous, stable combustion. Post-combustion gases are passed through a flue washing and gas purification unit, rendering them harmless to the atmosphere.

Working Principle

Organic waste is fed into the furnace through a feed hopper. In the first stage, the waste is dried and then completely incinerated in the main combustion chamber. The heat generated during combustion is utilized for process heat or hot water production using a heat exchanger. In the final stage, flue gases are cleaned through chemical scrubbing and filtration systems. At the end of this process, only sterile ash remains, and no harmful gases are released into the environment.

Advantages of the YF Series

Complete Combustion and Low Emission: The automatic air balancing system ensures complete combustion even in high-moisture organic waste and prevents the formation of harmful gases.

Energy Recovery: The heat obtained from the combustion process can be used to produce steam, hot water or plant heat.

Odor and Pathogen Removal: Thanks to the closed combustion system, bad odors and biological risks are completely eliminated.

Low Operating Cost: Energy consumption is minimized through fuel optimization and heat recovery.

Durable and Long-Lasting Structure: Dense refractory lining and steel body withstand continuous high temperature, providing long service life.
